1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website (or third-party services embedded in it) to remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or login state.
There are two main types: session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (remain on your device until they expire or you delete them).
This policy also covers similar technologies including web beacons, pixels, and browser local storage, which can be used to track or store information in ways similar to cookies.
2. How We Obtain Consent
When you first visit this Site, a cookie consent banner appears. You have two choices, which are recorded now and will be honored automatically once analytics or advertising launch (subject to the reset described above):
- Accept All — pre-approves analytics cookies and, once advertising is enabled in the future, personalized advertising cookies, in addition to strictly necessary local storage.
- Necessary Only — pre-declines analytics cookies and, once advertising is enabled, ad personalization.
Your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage (not in a cookie) under the key cse_consent. This data never leaves your device. You can change your choice at any time by clicking "Manage Cookies" in our website footer.
We implement Google Consent Mode v2, ready for when analytics and advertising launch. Neither the Google Analytics nor the Google AdSense script is loaded on this Site today. When each launches, it will not load at all until you make a consent choice — no cookies will be set, and no network requests will be made, before consent.
We also automatically honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal: if your browser sends it, we treat it as an immediate "Necessary Only" choice and skip showing the banner. See Section 7 for details.
3. Cookies and Trackers We Use (Including What We Plan to Add)
We organize cookies into three categories. Category 1 is active today. Categories 2 (analytics) and 3 (advertising) are not active yet — both are listed here in full, in advance, for complete transparency about what will change once we enable Google Analytics and Google AdSense.
Category 1 — Strictly Necessary (no consent required)
Note: cse_consent is stored in browser localStorage, not as a cookie. It is processed entirely on your device and never transmitted to our servers.
Category 2 — Analytics (not yet active; consent will be required)
Not currently in use. The table below lists the cookies Google Analytics typically sets, disclosed now so you know exactly what to expect before we turn analytics on. Once enabled: these cookies will be set only after you select "Accept All," and they will help us understand how visitors use the Site (aggregate page views, session duration, geographic region), with no personally identifiable information stored.
IP addresses are anonymized before transmission to Google. Google acts as a data processor under a Data Processing Amendment. You can opt out of Google Analytics at any time by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Category 3 — Advertising (not yet active; consent will be required)
Not currently in use. The table below lists the cookies Google AdSense typically sets, disclosed now so you know exactly what to expect before we turn advertising on. Once enabled: these cookies will load only after you select "Accept All." If you select "Necessary Only," the AdSense script will still load (to serve contextual non-personalized ads) but all consent signals will be set to "denied" via Google Consent Mode v2, preventing interest-based profiling.
The cookies listed above are examples of cookies Google may set once advertising is active. Google's advertising cookie behavior changes over time. For the most current information, see Google's advertising cookie information and Google's cookie policy.
4. Fonts and Other Third-Party Connections
This Site does not use Google Fonts or any other third-party font service. All typefaces are self-hosted as part of the Site itself, so loading a page never sends a request — or your IP address — to a font provider. This is different from many websites, which commonly load fonts directly from Google's servers on every page view.
5. Google Consent Mode v2
We implement Google Consent Mode v2, which communicates your consent choices directly to Google's systems before those systems initialize. There are four standard consent signals Google recognizes:
ad_storage— controls whether advertising cookies can be setanalytics_storage— controls whether analytics cookies can be setad_user_data— controls whether user data can be sent to Google for advertisingad_personalization— controls whether personalized advertising can be enabled
Today, since advertising is not active, we only send the analytics_storage signal: denied by default, and granted only after you select "Accept All." Once advertising is enabled, we will also send the ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization signals. At that point, selecting "Necessary Only" will set all four signals to denied — Google will then serve only contextual (non-personalized) ads and will not use your data for ad profiling — and selecting "Accept All" will set all signals to granted.
Implementation note: No AdSense script is loaded on this Site at all today, since advertising is not active. When it is enabled, it will not load until after you make a consent choice, so no AdSense cookies or network requests will be initiated before consent is obtained — consistent with ePrivacy Directive and GDPR requirements.
6. How to Manage Your Cookie Preferences
6.1 Our Consent Banner
Click "Manage Cookies" in our website footer at any time to reopen the consent banner and change your preference. Your new choice takes effect immediately.
6.2 Browser Settings
You can control cookies directly through your browser. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies:
Blocking all cookies may affect Site functionality. Our calculator tools, however, do not require any cookies to function.

7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Due to the lack of a consistent industry standard for DNT, our Site does not currently respond to DNT signals automatically.
We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal automatically. If your browser or a browser extension transmits a GPC signal, our Site detects it before the consent banner would otherwise appear and immediately records "Necessary Only" as your preference — no banner interaction required, and no analytics or advertising cookies will be set once those services are active. This fulfills opt-out requirements under the CCPA (California), TDPSA (Texas), CPA (Colorado), CTDPA (Connecticut), and other applicable US state privacy laws. You can still open "Manage Cookies" in the footer at any time to make a different choice.
8. Cookies Set by Calculators and Generators
Our calculators and word generators themselves set no cookies and use no cookies. All calculation and text-mashup processing occurs in your browser (JavaScript). No form data — including names typed into the Fun-category generators — is stored, transmitted, or logged. This functionality works identically regardless of your cookie consent choice.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our technology, business practices, or applicable law changes. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and may reset your consent preference so that you are prompted to make a new choice. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
